Description
Appreciate glass at the molecular level!
Inspired by Dr. Marvin Bolt’s signature phrase, “Glass = Art + Science”, GEEX produced a mug to commemorate his GEEX Talks lecture, which touches on the history of glass through the frameworks of Iconic, Ionic, and Ironic.
The illustration features a common molecular depiction of soda lime glass. This 2D representation captures only one of many types of glass. In the wide spectrum of recipes and formulations for glass, various ions, such as sodium or calcium, float “in the soup” of this material.
Microwave and dishwasher safe.
