Resources

GEEX Resources comprise a virtual textbook for public glass scholarship.

GLASS RESOURCE EXCHANGE

The Resource Exchange is a living archive serving as a shared, searchable, taggable “virtual textbook” for glass education. The Resource Exchange consolidates articles, artist talks, videos, supply lists, syllabi, and more into an accessible framework.

COMMUNICATION HUB

The GEEX Glass Communication Hub gathers public and active channels where conversations around glass technique, pedagogy, and more are happening.

WRITING CENTER

The GEEX Writing Center supports writing and scholarship for glass learners and educators. Modeled after community writing centers, the GEEX Writing Center offers similar guidance with experts who share a mutual material vocabulary.

ASK A GLASS LIBRARIAN

In collaboration with the Rakow Research Library at the Corning Museum of Glass, GEEX will solicit questions from the community and periodically select questions for the Rakow reference librarians to answer. The librarians will provide information, resources, and research tips.

TAMING LIGHTNING PODCAST x GEEX

Taming Lightning, created and hosted by Percy Echols II, unpacks the alchemy of plasma and neon technology while interviewing artists, craftspeople, and scientists in the field.

In this collaboration between Percy Echols II of Taming Lightning and Ben Orozco of GEEX, the two respective plasma and neon artists/technicians produced a 4-chapter series for glass educators and co-learners new to the plasma process, introducing elements of plasma in an easy-to-apply format, while touching on Percy’s journey as a self-starter and alchemist.
