GEEX Talks How-To

GEEX Talks has a new format for asynchronous engagement! The fourth season of GEEX Talks will air four speakers in two pairings over the course of the 2023-2024 season. Each pair of speakers will share their lectures, followed by an episode of the GEEX Talks Q&A Podcast.

GEEX TALKS YouTube Videos

Artist and Researcher GEEX Talks lectures premiere on the GEEX YouTube channel Mondays at 6:15PM Central and remain publicly accessible for three months. Following three months of public access, these talks are available in the Subscriber Archive to current academic year subscribers in addition to all archived 2020-2023 GEEX Talks and Q&As.

The period for questions starts on the premiere of the first speaker, and ends on the Friday after the second speaker. During the question solicitation period, share questions via the YouTube live chat or comments or email questions@geex.glass with the subject line “GEEX Talks Question”.

GEEX TALKS Q&A PODCAST

Questions from the audience will be shared as a framework for discussions between artists and researchers. GEEX aims to represent the range of questions submitted by the audience.

The GEEX Talks Q&A Podcast will publish new episodes during the third month of each GEEX Talks theme. Podcast episodes featuring 2022-24 Artists and Researchers will remain accessible indefinitely.

Subscriber FAQs

Yes, each GEEX Talk is publicly available on the GEEX YouTube channel for the first three months.

After three months, the video will be accessible to subscribers through the Subscriber Archive (login required).

  1. Synchronously, during the premiere, using YouTube’s live chat function.
  2. Synchronously, during class-time, with your native chat environment.
  3. Asynchronously — possibly using a discussion thread in your LMS to collect questions.

Options 2 and 3 can be timed during the question solicitation period to contribute to the Q&A video. Remember to send the GEEX staff your questions!
